Orrin H. Ingram, II Chair in Cancer Research and Professor of Biochemistry, Pharmacology, and Chemistry, Vanderbilt University; Member of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology, and the Center for Structural Biology. Prior to joining the Vanderbilt faculty in 2009, Dr. Fesik had a 26-year career at Abbott Laboratories where he was a pioneer in the applications of NMR spectroscopy to drug design. He most recently served as divisional vice president of cancer research at Abbott and led a group responsible for several cancer drug discovery programs.

Victor and Elizabeth Atkins Professor of Chemistry, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif. Dr. Grubbs was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2005 for the development of ruthenium-catalyzed metathesis of olefins, a powerful synthetic method to create carbon-based linkages within a single compound or between two different compounds. This chemistry is widely used by the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in a variety of processes, including Aileron's Stapled Peptide Technology, and enables the discovery of novel drugs having unique properties for the treatment of various diseases.

Prof Dr. Klaus Strein has led all Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) activities at Roche in connection with the generation, optimization, early technical development and formulation of small molecules, therapeutic proteins, RNA therapeutics and therapeutic stem cells since January 2010. Prof Dr. Strein joined Boehringer Mannheim (BM) as lab head of cardiovascular pharmacology in 1979. Over the years, he became Head of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Head of Research and Development Pharma, and joined the Executive Board of BM 1995 as Chief Technology Officer, becoming also Head of Pharma in 1997. After BM was taken over by Roche in 1998, he moved first to Basel then to Penzberg (Germany), where in 1998/99 he became Head of Pharma Research and, in addition, 2002 Global Head of Roche Therapeutic Protein Initiative. Prof Dr. Strein serves as a Board Member of NovImmune SA. Since 1986, he is extraordinary Professor at the University of Heidelberg (Germany). Prof Dr. Strein holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Heidelberg and is also qualified as an M.D. specialized in pharmacology and toxicology.
